But somehow, the Conservatives turn out to be either crooked (Nixon), incompetent (Bush II) or forced by reality to do what the Liberals would have done anyway (Bush I). Only Reagan turned out the way you'd hoped, the man who single-handedly succeeded in reversing a half-century of American progress and social justice. Now you have given us the Trumpster, a man who has managed to be both crooked AND incompetent. For years the Right has pleaded for a nation "run like a business". Well, is this the best you could do? We know how Trump ran his businesses. Still, as I have mentioned before, we can't really blame this all on Trump. There are crooked and incompetent Democrats, too. Where we CAN lay blame is on the Republican Party and the Conservative movement itself, who are so desperate to get their 19th century economic and social policies institutionalized that they will do everything they can to make excuses for this bloated and vulgar toad. And what are we going to get in return for a tax cut for the rich, racism, xenophobia, religious fanaticism and endless gun violence? His successes will be the decline of America as a military and economic world power, the destruction of our environment, and a trillion dollar budget deficit. And that's if we're lucky. Yeah, America is finally being run on a sound, businesslike basis, like Trump University.
