An intricately plotted , sophisticated and complex, but self-consistent, storyline was suddenly rushed to completion with a hastily cobbled together <em>denouement.</em> One of my favorites, "Defying Gravity", got its plug pulled abruptly in the middle of the first season end episode...just before the creature hiding in the cargo hold was finally revealed. Once again, we are reminded that no matter how creative the artistic and technical staff may be, the business majors will be able to find a way to fuck it up. “Caprica” must have suffered a similar fate. An intricately plotted , sophisticated and complex, but self-consistent, storyline was suddenly rushed to completion with a hastily cobbled together denouement.

Then when it was renewed, he had to come up with a years' worth of new stories. They were good, like all his work. But it wreaked havoc with a carefully-plotted story. I've worried about this in the past: Like thousands of other cord-cutters, I don't watch most shows within the "DVR window", the three days after broadcast when people who watch the show on DVRs get counted along with the premiere audience. I think I've contributed to serious undercounting of the show's audience. In fact, I was going to wait for the show to come up free in Prime, in a few months. Then I heard about the cancellation, and decided to send Jeff a message, by spending $30 on Amazon to stream The Expanse. Three days later he buys the show. Coincidence? Sure, why not?
