Arthur Schuster is a hero of mine for this speculative piece about the possibility of ‘anti-matter’- 30 years before Dirac derived its reality… I was in grad school when I stumbled across this in ~1998 …. I followed up and found a fellow that was an unofficial historian of the physics department at the university Schuster worked at… Schuster lived to see Dirac’s prediction and may have been aware of its experimental verification in 1932 (He died in 1934 after long illness)… The last line gets me every time…

The ‘Live frog taken from snake’ article is probably the funniest thing to ever appear in ‘Nature’ in its very long history…
Frog: “Hey! Many Thanks to you my dear sir! I thought I was a goner for sure! Why, if you hadn’t have saved me I would be dead! And now sir, if you would be so kind as to get me away from this dangerous snake, I would forever be in your debt… sir? sir…? Where are you going sir? Oh no… not again….!”
