The citizen driver January 8, 2019 6:37 am ER

I renewed my driver’s licence a few months ago, by mail. It was a relatively painless and straightforward process. I didn’t even have to have my picture taken.

In order to renew her driver’s licence next month, my wife will have to show up in person at the DMV and bring in

1) proof of citizenship
2)Social security number proof
3)marriage certificate to document change-of-name
4)two documents verifying current home address

I’m only speculating, of course, but I strongly suspect we’ll all be having to do something very similar to this in 2020 to renew our voter registration.
