Giuliani used to be "America's Mayor", the guy who took charge on 9/11. Now he's a doddering old fool who can't keep his stories straight.

And what about Trump? What happened to the dynamic and dashing Robber Baron, the articulate and decisive entrepreneur? Now he's morphed into a grotesque buffoon who can barely speak English.

Could it be something in the Manhattan environment that lowers mental capacity by double digits? Or is it just the corrosive effect of long term exposure to Conservative philosophy?

If the Trumpers are as corrupt as I suspect they are, we may be seeing some suicides as the squalid truths are slowly revealed. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some murders as well, as they scramble to hide the evidence and silence potential witnesses.

Liberals should make sure they stay totally clear of any such activities. We don't want to make martyrs of this crowd, and we know that any suspicious deaths will probably be blamed on the Left anyway, even if they are perfectly natural ones due to disease or accident.

This is why the Mueller probe is so important. He is a Republican, appointed by Republicans, and a man of unimpeachable reputation respected by both sides. We must accept his findings, even if we find them insufficiently damning of Trump, and we must be ready to do whatever it takes to publicize them if he is silenced or frustrated by Trump. There are still people on the Right who distrust the Trumpers, and fear them, but they don't have the courage to move against him openly. They are counting on the Mueller probe to give them the political cover they need to go after the President.

One thing remains obvious to me. When Nixon was deposed, a majority of Republicans realized he had to go and joined forces with the Democrats to force him out. I don't think that holds true any more, the GOP is Trump's party now. Hatred of the Liberals is so toxic and malignant that any crime or lie is tolerated as long as it stops the Left from gaining any ground. Although no doubt there are still some honest, patriotic and responsible Republicans left (my guess its about 20-30%) I don't think there are enough to be counted on to insist justice is done when push comes to shove. Most of the good ones have either changed sides, primaried out, been replaced by Democrats, retired, or died. The others are just too intimidated to speak up.

I sense the crisis will be soon, but it must be allowed to unfold naturally, and the response to it must be by the numbers, strictly due process. Its not time for the barricades...yet.
