Their desire to control women's bodies isn't limited to potential infanticide, its also extended to contraceptives, sex education, and any other institution or technology that can be used to reduce unwanted pregnancies. However, it hasn't always been that way. When I was kid, I recall abortion was freely promoted in the South as a means of controlling the alarming growth of the "excess Negro population". The religious right's objection to abortion isn't about babies, its about fucking.
