A heavily armed man who frightened shoppers and employees at a Walmart in Missouri told the police he was testing his Second Amendment rights when he recorded himself entering the store, according to a prosecutor, who charged him on Friday with making a terrorist threat.

The man, Dmitriy N. Andreychenko, 20, of Springfield, Mo., was carrying a tactical rifle slung across his chest, a handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition on Thursday when he caused a panic at the store, the police said.

Pictures taken by a witness showed that Mr. Andreychenko was wearing a bulletproof vest.

“This is Missouri, I understand if we were somewhere else like New York or California, people would freak out,” Mr. Andreychenko told a police officer, according to an arrest report.

He was taken into custody without incident after another shopper held him at gunpoint, the police said. It was not immediately clear if Mr. Andreychenko, who was being held at the Greene County Jail with bail set at $10,000, had a lawyer.

The episode happened less than a week after 31 people were killed in two mass shootings, the first last Saturday at a crowded Walmart in El Paso and the second early Sunday near a bar entrance in Dayton, Ohio.

A 23-year-old Las Vegas man who authorities say worked as a security guard has been arrested and accused of plotting to firebomb a synagogue or a bar catering to LGBTQ customers.

A U.S. magistrate judge on Friday ordered Conor Climo to remain in federal custody following his arraignment on a federal firearms charge that could get him 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Climo’s court-appointed attorney didn’t immediately respond to messages.

U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich says Climo was arrested Thursday, after an FBI-led anti-terrorism investigation and the discovery at Climo’s home of diagrams and items that could make bombs.

Hatewatch researchers were able to link Gebert to “Coach Finstock” by tying several Twitter accounts operated with some form of that handle to him, and by playing samples of his voice from appearances as “Coach Finstock” on white nationalist podcasts such as “The Fatherland” to people who know him.

Gebert also was a leader of a Washington-area chapter of The Right Stuff, a network founded by neo-Nazi blogger Michael Peinovich, aka Mike Enoch, three sources told Hatewatch.

“[Whites] need a country of our own with nukes, and we will retake this thing lickety split,” “Coach Finstock” said on a May 2018 episode of “The Fatherland,” Hatewatch revealed. “That’s all that we need. We need a country founded for white people with a nuclear deterrent. And you watch how the world trembles.”

An Ohio man was slammed with criminal charges Friday for threatening New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and stockpiling illegal ammunition in his home, according to prosecutors.

Federal agents raided Tim Ireland’s Toledo home on Thursday and arrested him after learning he had posted on Facebook that Ocasio-Cortez “should be shot,” prosecutors said.

“My employer would load the gun for me,” Ireland posted, according to court records.

During the raid, feds found several rounds of illegal ammunition in Ireland’s home, prosecutors said.

An FBI background check also revealed the 41-year-old had two outstanding warrants on marijuana possession in Georgia and skipping a court hearing in Florida related to a past criminal case, according to prosecutors.
