I disagree. Every thought, every utterance, every action issuing from this man and his apologists must be recorded, documented and repeated. It must be shouted out to the heavens, inscribed in stone. Let there be no excuses in the future that "we did not know", that "we had no way of knowing", that "we had no idea what was happening". No one must ever forget what happened to this country, and no one must ever question the historical record as being exaggerated, or overblown, or colored by bias and prejudiced by his enemies. If we don't, the fascists of the future will rewrite the history, forget what it was like, coloring it in a fog of phony nostalgia. They've done it to the genocide of the Red Man, the memories of slavery and the Antebellum South, of the grinding misery of the Gilded Age and its robber barons, of Jim Crow and of the horrors of Nazi Germany. It may already be too late to say this, but it can never be too early. This must never happen again.
