Their primary focus is not about sport or safety or self defense, its about developing new products and new “needs” for firearms, expanding and diversifying their customer base and convincing consumers they need multiple specialized weapons in a market that is already saturated with highly durable products. They don’t want you to have a gun, they want you to have as many as you can afford. And it is only in their interest that firearms are widely distributed to criminals. They are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy; the more guns are loose in society, the more people feel the need to protect themselves with a gun.

In order to do this, they take advantage of American racism and xenophobia and its fascination with violence, and peddle a philosophy of fear and fascism by conflating their essentially economic goals with patriotic brainwashing.

Its not too surprising that the Russians, constantly studying and exploiting the flaws in American culture, have exploited this obsession for their own purposes. The NRA is pure, distilled, concentrated evil.
