After the week we've had, I was in the mood to watch some TV news, but there was none today, local or network, on TV at all. Every channel was full of football, endless acres of mindless apes in armor and ridiculous skin-tight uniforms chasing a little ball around a field, and strutting like baboons in heat between plays. And then there's the inane "analysis" and "color" between the beer and pickup truck commercials. I don't get cable, so I rely on broadcast TV and radio for my news. But there was none on the air today. Yeah, I know, if I had cable I could get all the news I wanted, tailored to my own politics, but I don't. Or I could go on the internet. Besides, why don't they put the football on cable or the internet instead? I know, I know, mass communications delivers what the people want, not what they need. Then again, maybe America is getting exactly what it deserves. Although I suppose the Deplorables would rather see him as a man who “don’t take no shit from nobody”.
