I watched a report on TV today on how China is systematically dismantling the Uighur nation–cultural genocide on a high order.

Its one of a series, last night they talked about how China is installing a vast constellation of TV cameras in their cities, linked to a computer network and massive database equipped with AI face recognition software. The goal is to be able to monitor and control their entire population in real time.

Tomorrow they will be talking about China’s armed forces. I don’t know too much about the Peoples’ Liberation Army, but I have studied their naval buildup and it scares the shit out of me.

Things don’t look good for democracy in the future. Russia is a gangster oligarchy, and Trump is busy trying to follow in their lead. Even if he’s stopped, I doubt if anything good will be left to emerge from the wreckage. Europe is divided and afraid, and Britain is paralyzed and dysfunctional. The third world is slipping further and further behind, and the middle east is lurching towards a fanatical medieval theocracy. Overpopulation, resource shortages, pollution and climate change are proceeding right on schedule with no hope in sight.

Can anyone see a way out?
