And he had plenty of help in getting where he is. We knew exactly what we were getting into when we voted for Trump, and the social superstition and cultural pathology his politics are rooted in and based on. The fact some of us fought against this is irrelevant, clearly we did not do so strongly enough, nor in great enough numbers. Like the German people, we, too, are going to have to carry that weight a long time. And, as you point out, the rest of the world will suffer as well. They will never forgive us. This nation will get the government it deserves, and all of us will be dragged to that destiny whether we individually deserve it or not.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world, and ultimately the fate of the human race is strongly dependent on which way America goes in the next year.

Past descents of world powers into fascism have been important chapters in history books… this time it is even more important- it will determine if there will be much more history to write books about.
