Yet Trump freed him because Blagojevich 'just said the sort of stuff all politicians say'.

Trump did so in order to play to the exact cynical apathy DanS has resorted to out of laziness.

Trump has no concept of justice, he believes the law only exists to serve him.

We may not agree with the outcome, but it was not our verdict to make. Today, social media tries to alter this basic Constitutional right in the Law of the Land, and upon occasion wins its way, correctly or not.

The Law, though, must prevail.

The mental contortions you have to engage in to believe voting Republican will somehow result in Trump's removal... or to think Trump has learned his lesson...

That is delusional to a truly pathological degree...

All of them definite capital offenses of the most heinous order. Off with his head!

"Harrumph! Harrumph! Harrumph!"

...and voting for a front-runner to remove Trump as soon as possible makes no sense because it needs to be thought through. It may take decades to clean up this mess, but step one is clear. Get rid of him as soon as possible.

As my finale, in 2004 there was solid evidence of a living threat of WMD in Iraq. To state otherwise is an outright lie. This was erroneous information, but existing none the less.

Cheers to all readers here, and ciao to the thread.

And do you honestly think, if reelected, Trump would be so stupid as to tempt another Impeachment — with an even greater affront?

Have you been paying ANY attention the past 3 years? Did you see his hour long rant yesterday? The legal defense his team gave was that it it is perfectly fine for him to conspire with foreign powers to get re-elected as long as he "believes" that his election is in the nation's best interests. The Republicans signed off on that. They validated that argument. He is now free to act without restraint.

He is now purging those that testified. The Attorney general has now ordered that any investigation of presidential campaigns must be approved by him personally, and the senate is opening sham investigations of Biden.

It is my intension now to vote Republican, as I see that it would be the best way to get rid of the Mighty Trumpster. Voting any other party would be throwing away my opportunity.

That statement makes no sense... it is only the Republicans that find his crimes acceptable. They are the ones contorting themselves to excuse him.

You claim to be an independent, yet you always caucused with the conservatives... you banged the "iraq has WMD" drum louder than anyone in 2002, and turned around in 2004 to claim it was about freeing the iraqi people, and never was about WMD... You can call yourself whatever you like, but your talking points were consistently the inconsistent talking points of the Republicans...

You bring Hillary Clinton into the discussion because that the talking point you have been trained to regurgitate... ignoring the fact that she was not charged with any crime before the election, and despite Trump's efforts, the sham investigation he demanded ALSO came up with nothing. Just another crazy conservative conspiracy theory you promulgate.

You were marching in lock-step with the conservatives as they went down this road, and despite your claim of independence, you are still pushing the party line.

I am not drawing conclusions based on some tell-all book... the actions and words of the president himself and his own people made it clear. The testimony of the witnesses was clear, the documents that they were unable to cover up made it clear.

You would have to be willfully blind not to admit the facts.

I am an Independent -- without a Congressional press-box.

No. A solid crime with hard evidence would not lead to acquittal. You should know that, and this is a fact which should leave li'l Ms. Rodham-Clinton quaking in her Louis Vuittons, where the only out would be some benevolent VP-come-president.

And, no. What I've spent years here doing was avoiding Flame and Current Events, just because of the opportunity it would raise for a rant of this sort. It has driven a number of insightful posters out of the Habitable Zone. No, I do not stand on soapboxes expounding political philosophies. That I leave for fools and politicos who have suddenly discovered the perfect politician.

The only foregone conclusion is what I had written above and yes, I do mean the rot and hypocrisy of ALL the political parties in Washington. This is a simple quest for POWER with each and every one of them straining to reach that absolute pinnacle of CORRUPTION. Trump has been there his entire life.

...And they all want it, jumping into the circle, shouting, clapping for themselves and not each other, deriding and debasing, spite and disdain on their faces. It's not this party or that party. I feel that it started with Bill Clinton and has simply escalated between Republican and Democrat since. This is Pandora’s gift to the voting public. All we can do is lick our wounds and keep trying.

RL, you’re typing as thought you might be on the verge of fringing out. Mainstream, while being mainstream, is far better than the Tell-All books you may have fallen in with.

A grain of salt, please.

The man (my man, I guess) that I voted for was not elected.

It is my intension now to vote Republican, as I see that it would be the best way to get rid of the Mighty Trumpster. Voting any other party would be throwing away my opportunity.

And do you honestly think, if reelected, Trump would be so stupid as to tempt another Impeachment -- with an even greater affront?

I don't think so, but I do think the concentration should be more on his removal than his potential for evil -- as well as the removal of other questionable politicians.

For future reference, I’ll be back for some reading, but I think I may be done with this thread.
