Replying to a post with a Kindle isn't possible. When you type in text box it expands and covers the post button. Is the expanding text box new(ish)? I don't remember it. I had to post this from my phone.

P.S. I did reduce the text size to the smallest but that didn't help

Way back in high school we had a radio station, pretty serious at 5kw FM, and naturally I was in charge of news. Like all radio stations, every Friday morning we had to broadcast that EBS test message you're paraphrasing.

One Friday most of us were in a radio class about something, with the station playing at low volume on speakers, when we hear: "This is an attack warning! I repeat, this is an attack warning! The office of the President has issued the following message: A nuclear attack on the United States is imminent, and all citizens are advised to seek shelter. I repeat, this is an attack warning!" Und so weiter.

Since you probably don't remember a nuclear apocalypse circa 1971, yep, that was a fumble-fingered teenager putting the wrong tape cartridge in the machine. We'll never know how many old people had a heart attack that day, but we did have to file a formal apology with the FCC.

Oh, the memories...

This is a test, this is only a test. If this had been a real comment additional text would be provided.

If this comment has problems, I'll see the problems you're seeing. If not, I'll need to gather information.

Browser shouldn't make a difference to the server, if that's what's generating errors. It'd help to know what the error messages are saying, if you recall. Just to confirm, in both cases, you were replying to a post or another replay, and not making a new root post? This is important, because WordPress, the software under the skin, treats posts and comments as entirely different things, with different processing chains and different storage.

As has been the custom for a lot of years, it's a good idea to copy your post/comment to the clipboard so the text is still around in case you need to try again. Mention it only in case you've lapsed that discipline after so long.

Tears in rain by Robert July 24, 2019 5:07 pm

I had an innocuous little post for a reply at:

Aboslutely Film Noir by podrock 2020-01-25 19:25:37

My comment -- which I have now forgotten -- would not take at all. Constant errors. All other postings on the site seem fine ... except for my comments at GeekSpeak.

If it matters, I'm currently using GoogleChrome.
