Posting for me is generally cut-n-paste from Notepad. I type it all up, paste to Word for spellcheck, then back to Notepad to clean out Word and then to post. Doing this, I've noticed my img src= and center commands completely vanish. The text and a href=" links seem to remain just fine.

I go back in and add my images (again). Seems the page has difficulty accepting both image and centering at the same time, so I save then add my centers (again).

Everything comes up fine, but then my centering vanishes after a few days, perhaps as you said after I receive a reply.

FYI:
This post was typed in, not cut-n-paste -- fat-fingering every other word...

This sounds like a separate problem from the one with replies you posted about on Community. I too have noticed that root posts are sometimes altered, after somebody replies, and I suspect a rogue filter in WordPress that's scrubbing somebody's idea of "wrong" HTML. For me it's most often losing an entire iframe, e.g. used to embed a YouTube video.

It may be scrubbing obsolete HTML, tags that are no longer officially canon (though browsers tend to be forgiving). You mention centering, and the old <center> tag is one of the ones no longer supported. The modern way is to use the 'style' attribute inside a tag. For an image, it would look like

<img src="" style="align:center;max-width:640px" >

(The max-width:640px clause is something I throw in to ensure wide images don't overflow the window and make text too wide to read.)

Moar info please.

Changing my style to blockquote might be an alternative next time.

My dyslexia likes Notepad.

Anyway, not the issue at all. I post a new topic -- actually cut-n-paste a new topic -- save it, then look at it and it's fine with all pics neatly centered. Title labels are centered as well just so they would stand out. A few days later, I come back to the topic and everything is aligned to the left.

When commenting, I add HTML by editing. Works better for some reason.

In either case, you can always go see your HTML tags by going to the editor. In the editor you can change view from code to WYSIWYG.
