Yesterday’s Coronavirus Task Force press briefing was perhaps one of the worst to date after Trump began to tout the possibility of even more dangerous and downright weird treatments for the virus that’s currently eating away at his chances for reelection.

Trump spent weeks touting the malaria medication hydroxychloroquine as an effective treatment for coronavirus patients. And now that studies have shown that not only does the medication not really help, it may actually make things worse (despite the fact that Donald claims he hasn’t read said studies), it seems as though his desperation for a “cure” is getting the best of him and he’s switched lanes to peddle even wackier treatment routes — including injecting disinfectants into people and using UV rays internally to dispel the virus.

Despite the clear mania that can be seen in Trump’s out-there suggestions, it still remains true that the man cannot stand to be corrected or made look like the fool he is. And according to a bombshell find from NBC News reporter Shannon Pettypiece Trump’s White House is going to extreme lengths to prevent that from happening.

In a tweet this morning, Pettypiece flagged a significant change that was made to the official transcript of last night’s press briefing that made it appear as though Dr. Deborah Birx agreed with Trump on his wacky suggestion that heat and light could be an effective treatment for COVID-19.

“Deborah, have you ever heard of that — the heat and the light, relative to certain viruses, yes, but relative to this virus?” Trump asked Dr. Birx during the presser.

“That is a treatment,” the White House transcript states as Dr. Birx’s reply.

However, in reality, Deborah actually stated, “Not as a treatment.”
