What we should be considering is why is so much effort being put into spreading them, and how they all seem targeted at a specific demographic? As much as I tend to be skeptical of evil-masterminds-with-sinister agendas-lurking-in-the-background, it is hard to escape the suspicion that there is a lot of funding and coordination behind these "spontaneous" campaigns of disinformation. There have always been lots of rumors and confusion in stressful times, that is to be expected. But these current propaganda tsunamis all seem to have a consistent message, and a specific target, and they all seem to be converging on a homogeneous view of the world and of reality. They are all telling us that none of our institutions are to be trusted, that all authority is villainous, that government is tyranny, and that alien influences are infiltrating the blood and soil of the heartland. Only the church, the army/police and the business community are to be trusted. A vacuum is being created, and I suspect that something is being prepared to fill it.
