...is the most optimistic character I can imagine. In each story, Evil is vanquished and the Good prevails. Evil is shown to be stupid and arrogant, Good is smart and clever and mutely witty. Road Runner is a master mime of bon mots.

But in the context of this thread, nope, 'fraid I don't see any Road Runner opposing Wily in November. But there's still that perennial onrushing train that always flattens the Coyote: The country is just plain pissed off. The polls don't directly ask "Do you hate Donald Trump?", or ask you to rate on a scale of nine to ten "How much do you despise Donald Trump?". But maybe they should. Most people, especially Americans, vote with their guts instead of their heads, anyway, and if Trump is expelled by the country's gut, then yay!, reverse peristalsis. I'm good, thanks.

And I know Trump's curs will feel just as whipped as you describe. And I care about as much as I do when Wily gets his ass decisively kicked. I'd laugh at both.

Mark Knopfler weighs in:<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/Huf-7dZ8Rts" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

These are the people who are sick and tired of being humiliated by the Roadrunners. They are going to get even, they are going to have their revenge, they are going to kill, maim, torture, degrade, insult and mock those birds once and for all.

Nothing can ever be allowed to get in the way of that. Nothing. Ever. And they are in too deep now to back out, for any reason.

Beep, Beep, uhmm Beep, Beep, yeah.

Are they stupid, delusional, or as damaged as he is?
If Obama had spoken like this, would they have been ok with it?

With this family member, once the dementia really took hold, we looked back in time and recognized the early signs.

His posture had changed to always leaning forward a bit, like his head was moving faster than his feet. This also contributed to many falls. His gait changed like his feet had gotten heavy, or they'd swing outward as he walked. Watch how Mr. T walks now, especially the ramp incident. I've seen that before.

He always told stories but he started to repeat them over and over, sometimes at the same meal. Right in the middle of meals he'd stand up and walk off. A rambling word salad began to dominate his speech pattern.

And I don't see evidence of dementia or any cognitive dysfunction. I see a man of average or slightly lower than average intelligence.

But when I compare his current verbal and communicative skills with examples from about 20-30 years ago,(Youtube is full of them) I see a loss of about 20 or thirty points of IQ. He used to be a lot sharper and quicker than he is now.

Much the same can be said about Joe Biden. He's certainly not the same man he was in his 50s and 60s, but his age-related changes have manifested themselves in his ability to respond quickly and adapt to a rapidly shifting conversation. He still has all his smarts, but he's just not as fast and flexible, or as confident, as he used to be.

Contrast both these men with Bernie Sanders, also about the same age. You may not agree with what he says or thinks, but Bernie is still as sharp as a tack. He doesn't miss a thing.

I'm about Trump's age, and I've certainly noticed a drop in my own mental capacity over the same time period, its only natural. But my own loss of cognitive function is nowhere near as extreme as his. If I were in his shoes, and experiencing the same symptoms, I would have gone for professional help a long time ago. My own natural mental deterioration due to age might disqualify me from being President (that's always a subjective call), but it would not prevent me from recognizing that, or prevent me from admitting it to others and doing something about it.

I may be an old fart, but I understand that well enough to make allowances for it.

Is really only given if there is a reason to suspect a cognitive problem. After a fall, or a stroke, or if there are symptoms of dementia. I know, because a family member of mine suffered all three. The last time he took the test, he failed it. But the doctor told him he passed to not upset him. He was so proud and fairly lucid for a couple of hours.

Is this related to his surprise trip to Walter Reed last November?
