Today the normally meek and bootlicking director of the CDC Redfield said masks were important, breaking from the moron in chief:
“I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against Covid than when I take a Covid vaccine, because the immunogenicity may be 70%. And if I don’t get an immune response, the vaccine is not going to protect me. This face mask will,” Redfield told lawmakers during public testimony on Wednesday, adding that the American public has not yet embraced the use of masks to a level that could effectively control the outbreak.
Trump just said in his press conference that Redfield was mistaken…
“He called me and said he thought he might have misunderstood the question” (bullshit obviously)
“There will be a vaccine that will initially be available sometime between November and December, but very limited supply and will have to be prioritized,” Redfield said. “If you’re asking me when is it going to be generally available to the American public so we can begin to take advantage of vaccine to get back to our regular life, I think we’re probably looking at late second quarter, third quarter 2021.”
Trump just said Redfield was mistaken, and a vaccine will be out and available to distribute to the public next month….
Now, I am the most pro-vaccine person there is, and have often done battle with anti-vaxxers… but if they rush out a vaccine next month there is no way I am taking it unless I see unquestionable safety data (and there is no way such data can be found in a month when you also need to evaluate long term risks.)

Or change his name to Renfield.
