Just been lucky enough to be on a lot of large projects that turned out well...

The only reason my name is on that paper (Just one of MANY Dr. Ghez has written on the subject) is that she used the laser guide star 'engineering time'... that was before we had decided it was ready to support scheduled observations- 'engineering time' was set aside for us to work out the bugs in the system- astronomers could apply to use it during those times, but they had to accept that it would be risky and possibly not working reliably - and any papers written from the observations had to list the Laser Guide Star team as co-authors.

Back in the early 2000's I know I wrote on an earlier incarnation of the zone about the observations of the galactic black hole... Once while observing it we saw it flare- a few earth masses of 'something' had fallen in and smashed into the accretion disk... it was awe inspiring, especially when you realized that what you were seeing occurred 30,000 years ago when your ancestors were painting on cave walls.

But, so far, I have never had to deal with screaming groupies throwing articles of their clothing at me while I am trying to align my lasers...

His name is micro-engraved (along with about 20,000 others)on a plaque affixed to the Mariner spacecraft now resting on the surface of Mars.

Now I have another one. Congratulations.
