By all appearances, fraud has been committed, and unsurprisingly, Orange County’s involved. Normally, I’m a peaceful man, but if there’s a state version of Martial Law, Orange County needs to be placed under it. They’ve done everything short of outright insurrection at this point, and it pisses me off.

The only states (or group of states) that currently have the might and ability to secede are Texas, and New England. Texas would probably make it on their own, provided they don’t screw up their finances like last time, and New England will probably spend a decade independent before it sells itself to Canada.

The undermining of the faith in democracy is also Putin’s goal- so yet again the GOP is aiding and abetting the enemy.

And Dan is right there to back them up…

Had the party affiliations been reversed Dan would have no hesitancy in screaming for swift and brutal punishment.

Those returning ballots, however, must properly sign for those voters’ ballots and follow the legal procedures to safely return them, and setting up unauthorized and unmonitored third-party drop boxes to collect ballots is not legal in California.

In a memorandum released Sunday, Padilla’s office said that not only did state law ban the use of drop boxes that are not put in place and regulated by government election officials, but setting up those boxes also violates the regulations governing the collection of ballots.

Republican Party operatives can deliver other voters’ ballots, but voters must designate a specific person to return their ballot, and those returning the ballots must affix their name, signature, and relation to the voter on the outer envelope.

On Sunday, California Secretary of State Alex Padilla issued guidance to county elections officials explaining that the fake ballot box scheme is “prohibited by state law.” He added that participants may be guilty of election fraud, a felony offense punishable by two to four years in prison. In an email on Monday, Padilla told me he is “coordinating with local officials to address the multiple reports of unauthorized ballot drop boxes.”

If you give your ballot to another person to deliver for you, you have to sign it indicating they are indeed authorized to do that for you…

the ballot envelope contains a section that must be filled out by the voter indicating the name of the person authorized to return their ballot, and the relationship (if any) to the voter. The individual returning the ballot must sign in this section.

This would be impossible to do when dropped in a box with no knowledge of who would be handling its contents. The ballots put in those boxes would not be legally acceptable.

Putting out a box and mislabeling it as an “official” ballot drop box, when it absolutely is NOT is fraud.

Republicans need the election to be as tainted as possible to lay groundwork for legal challenges- and if the Democrats are not playing dirty, then the Republicans will supply the corruption themselves… all that matters to them is that the democratic process appears hopelessly corrupted so the decision can go to the courts they have packed…

But I am sure you will find some way to excuse it… Those ethical contortions seem to be all you use your intellect for these days.

That’s true anywhere. Every community in America has shut-ins and people who simply cannot get away to vote in person or even to mail in a ballot, so sealing your ballot and handing it off to an associate, a friend or relative to post it or drop it into a “genuine” drop-box is perfectly legal.

If that’s the definition of fraud, then I’m the definition of howler monkey.

“Ballot harvesting”:
Having Democrat Party members go door-to-door to pick up ballots from Republicans and Republican Party members go door-to-door to pick up ballots from Democrats is simply begging for trouble.

“These Republicans appear to have committed felony election fraud.”

That’s all it will ever be until they complete their trial. Everybody is innocent until conviction. Warnings are in place, so we’ll just have to wait it out and see what comes of it all.

Once he’s got 4 more years, there will be no more need to pull his punches, and no one will be able to contradict him if he doesn’t. The next step will be civil action against anyone he doesn’t like, and failing that, criminal prosecution.

No, I’m not being paranoid, I’m not saying this will necessarily happen, I’m saying that he will be able to make it happen if he wants to (which amounts to the same thing, people will self-intimidate), and he will want to more and more every day. Remember, he’s got the USAG in his pocket now, and if he wins, the Senate too, and the AG in every Red State. Eventually, the House will simply become irrelevant, or will be purged at the next election.
