Get a load of Mitch Mconnell’s hands. They are covered with bruises and bandages. It looks as if he’s been in a fight, except his face has no evidence of damage. Is he pounding the walls, beating up his interns? When asked by reporters, both he and his office refuse to give an explanation.
Lacking that, I have a hypothesis. His hands look just like my wife’s, she’s just gotten back from the hospital where she received numerous intravenous infusions of antibiotics and saline. Older folks often cannot be injected or get their blood drawn through their arms, and must be given IVs through their knuckles, the so-called “butterfly”. I had one myself when the nurse had trouble finding the vein in my elbow.
I suspect the Senate Majority Leader is a sick man and has been undergoing treatment. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but why go to the trouble of covering it up? He’s up for re-election, don’t you think his constituents have a right to know?
I wish him a quick recovery. If he goes to trial, he should be in perfect health.
