I’m starting to come around to Robert’s point of view that Conservatives are representative of an “authoritarian” personality disorder. That is, they tend to find bullies appealing, like schoolyard followers who hang out with the alpha-male tough guy to avoid being picked on themselves.

Cultural evidence supports this view. Consider how ubiquitous the “tough guy” stereotype is in popular culture; the Cowboy Loner, the Dirty Harry Cop, the Marine Drill Instructor, the abusive High School Coach, the take-charge executive, the aggressive no-nonsense manager. And those who find this type of person unpleasant or uncomfortable are characterized as weak, effeminate, cowardly, even subversive.

Conservatives like to think of themselves as independent, innovative and bold personalities, but I think they are just the opposite: natural followers, sidekicks, yes-men, sycophants. Dare I say it? Pussies.

How’s the saying go? “Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line.”

DeSantis is giving special vaccine deals to wealthy... And threatening to cut off vaccine deliveries to those communities that dare complain... Fascism is endemic to the Republican party... It is in their DNA, they LOVE a 'strongman'... But they keep thinking weak, inept, and cruel are markers of strength...
