Who do a great job interacting with the public:

Rumors, *unconfirmed*, of glows and odor in Leilani Estates outside the main vent of Kilauea from a 2018 vent.

Thank you, I was trying to work out how to do that. It was a long day at the calcium carbonate face ;-) .

And the subject of much debate.

First thing that you'll notice is that there is no label on the y axis. Better minds than mine have determined that the y axis is the 30 minute max and min of the number of vertical seismic events at that frequency over a minute.

I know, that doesn't make any sense.

The three different lines are different subsonic frequencies, probably representing different behavior of rising gases in the decompressing magma. When they invert relative positions and increase, there is usually an eruption.

Sometimes sites don't let you link to images directly, especially if they get updated on the hour. I tried a couple of times and failed.

So, as a work around, I downloaded the gif and then uploaded to our library, then used that URL to do the image tag. You can find the library on the dashboard. Select edit under an image there and it will show the URL for posting. This old ship is full of kludges like this.
