I am not addressing the russian losses because I don't want to trigger any militant nationalism in the audience, instead I am directing the appeals to their sense of shame. Russians are hypersensitive to being considered uncivilized, stupid barbarians- while it is justified to call them barbaric orcs, it will only drive them into a victim mentality and will reinforce the 'Russia against the world' narrative Putin is feeding them. So what I am trying to do is present facts in a way that I hope makes them come to the conclusion on their own that their leadership is humiliating their nation, making them look uncivilized. Not speaking the language and relying on google translate makes it questionable I am accomplishing a damn thing, but when I get responses that indicate some Russians are against the war but feel helpless to stop it, OTHER russians read that as well and it chips away at the feeling that all their fellow russians are supporting it.... At least that is my hope... Does it make a difference? Almost certainly not- it is pissing into the wind most likely- but its still important to try to make it impossible for them to find a quiet place where they can forget about what is being done in their name.
