Kentucky passed a law banning transgendered high school students from sports. In the entire state there is one person affected.

One kid who likes to play field hockey. One.

But these pushbutton issues that have zero effect on voter’s lives get the conservatives to rail on social media and get them to the polls. Gay marriage. Hunter’s laptop. Benghazi. Hillary drinks baby blood. Disney is evil for having brown characters. Male teachers are grooming students for pedophilia or turning them gay. The Jews are replacing them with migrants to take over the country. Math textbooks are corrupting kids with story questions. The arts are dangerous.

The problem is this tactic of meaningless fear is very effective. Very. And liberals don’t play the same game. Talk about long term policy goals? Yawn. Susie housecoat and Joe sixpack don’t give a shit. They don’t care about climate tipping points.

It is very effective on the rubes. They want a white Christian nation and don’t really care how the strawberries show up at the local market. Just so long as they get cheap diesel for their pick-up truck so they can coal burn a Prius and own the libs.

It is what leads them to being so attracted to, and so eager to please such toxic people.

Not everyone that had such a dysfunctional father turns out that way- but far too many do.

Two of my childhood friends had such a family life, both were lost to the cult of Trump… and the way they talked about him made it clear exactly what that sick attraction was rooted in…

They wanted a strong authoritarian that was on THEIR side, that would tell them how great they were, and would bully and abuse others on their behalf…. instead of busting their lip in front of their friends for loading the dishwasher wrong- true story.

I cannot fathom how deeply fucked up you have to be to see Trump as ‘strong’, but they do. They see kindness and civility and adherence to the rules as weakness… unmanly…

Daddy Biden says; “Wear a surgical mask because its good for your health.” and his enemies feel it is a violation of their constitutional rights and personal freedoms. But when Daddy Trump says; “Ignore the election results, at both the popular and electoral levels, and storm the capitol while the votes are being counted and seize power illegally.” And that’s OK?

These people don’t have daddy issues, they are just fucked up.
