Old homes with character getting scrapped and replaced by homes with the same modern look. Designed to be different but somehow look the same. Old landmark businesses, favorites, now gone, replaced with large mixed-use complexes. I'm starting to not recognize the town anymore. I hear what you are saying about the progress our culture made, in starts and stops, over many years, now seemingly thrown into reverse. Did the progressive movement move too fast?
