The Left’s attack (Mar-a-Lago raid, Georgia election rigging charges, New York tax fraud lawsuit) on Trump Planet is coordinated and effective, but it may be a bit too late to do much good.

No matter how successful the charges on the legal front are, it’s unlikely they’ll have any effect on the mid-term elections, and it seems that if they go well for the GOP the charges will simply be ignored and similar retaliation litigation and Congressional investigations will be unleashed on the Democrats. It doesn’t matter how compelling the case is against Trump, his allies in Congress will simply ignore it.

The only good news I see is that the Right’s attempt to mobilize and unleash its Brownshirts and Freikorps battalions seems to have sputtered. But I believe the question of American Democracy will be settled in November of THIS year. We’re not going to have to wait until 2024 to see how it all turns out.
