It was a great way to catch up after work. But yeah, the BBC and PBS are the only reliable sources these days. And CNN gave the former guy so much free airtime in 2016 it was disgusting. Waiting for half an hour for him to talk, video of an empty podium, Maybe not realizing he was late on purpose. A half hour of just the breaking news of the day, all day. It was a great way to catch up after work.

They didn't outright lie like FOX, but there was no denying who's side they were on. So I relied on CNN for straight news. I could believe them, I trusted them, and I felt I wasn't in an echo chamber when I listened to them. When I gave up cable I moved to broadcast TV and started relying on broadcast news. The networks weren't particularly biased (in fact, they seemed to go way too far out of their way to be fair to Trump), but I got tired of the feel-good human interest bullshit, and the commercials cutting into my news fix. And I did not care of them using news time to plug their network shows and artists. So I came to rely on PBS and the BBC (carried on my local PBS affiliate) for the news. I am satisfied with both. PBS is excellent with US and International reporting, and BBC covers those foreign news stories the US outlets ignore. I am satisfied.
