The GOP will absolutely say Biden lost Ukraine if they pull the plug on aid. Democrats are the enemy, and Putin is an ally in that war.

The Russia army is all but defeated. Even their supposed “elite” forces are on their heels and falling back. Putin is simply throwing bodies at the front lines in hopes of blunting the Ukrainian counter offensive.

The Kherson retreat has thus far been more orderly than the rout in Kharkiv, but that may change. For there to be an orderly retreat a dependable fighting unit must hold the line and be willing to give their lives for the retreating forces behind them. All indications are the best Ruskie forces are withdrawing and untrained cannon fodder are being sent to the front line to cover the withdrawal. This could very well lead to another rout.

Cruel, cynical incompetence. A willingness to sacrifice untrained human beings in hopes of preserving more experienced units for the fight once winter is over. It may well backfire.

When a Russian surrenders to the Ukrainians, he should be interrogated. searched for weapons or intelligence, and then released. He should be shown the direction of the Russian lines and told, “On your way, Comrade, good luck.”

If its summertime, confiscate his boots.

BTW, have you noticed how the GOP is already prepping their minions to oppose US aid to Ukraine? Even though support for Ukraine is bipartisan, the Right cannot afford to have their constituency agree with the Democrats on ANYTHING. Any policy supported by Biden must be rejected outright, in the interest of ideological consistency. And of course, if the war turns in Russia’s favor due to Ukraine’s loss of Western aid, they can then blame it all on the Liberals in 2024.

Cannon fodder either surrenders or gets killed. Both are logistical problems for the opponent. A bunch of decomposing (frozen?) corpses or a lot of hungry mouths. Desperate evil, as usual, from Russia.

Ukraine is putting out videos on social networks about how to surrender. Pretty slick production value, too. But where do they go, how are they fed, kept warm, when the population is trying to figure out the same?

Oh, and fuck Putin, just for the record. And anyone who thinks he was justified in this invasion can go …
