Some of these schemes get complicated. But that's what casinos are for. That's pretty simple.

My aunt was in the entertainment business (performer) and knew all kinds of people. One of her "friends" turned out to be a mafia member. He set up a meeting and she was offered $250,000 (1970 dollars) to start any business she wanted. In return they would take a percentage of annual revenue. Luckily for our family, she refused the offer.

I've read a lot about this today, and back when the seed thing was going on, and I'm still not sure.

One theory is for the reviews, and how that might raise sales. They have to send something to be able to review on Amazon, then create a fake account using your name, which they can get from Amazon, then give it a five star glowing review, which might help drive sales?

We used to get a lot of weird spam here on the Zone from China which was similar. Lots of links to products or websites. If you can say, "look at how many websites mention us!", then there is some sort of boost in funding?

Another theory: establishing fake legitimacy to cover money laundering. This gets really complicated and way over my head. Borrow stolen money under a loan to start a company. Spend ten percent to send people stuff so it looks like it is legit, shipping records, sales, etc. using easily available personal records from someone like Amazon. Then declare bankruptcy, default on the note, and walk away with the other 90%. Or something like that.

This is an interesting discussion: https://www.ecomcrew.com/chinese-sellers-manipulating-amazon/
