Didn't mean to shut you down, I just felt a little tired of the discussion. It felt like I kept looping back over and over saying the same things but never getting through.

by taxes and/or borrowing.

I read an article that the rest of the world would not pay so little for medicine if the USA didn't pay so much. Our high costs for healthcare are paying for the R&D for new drugs and treatments, and the rest of the world reaps the benefits but not the bulk of the costs.

Kind of sucks ass imo.

There's something going here on besides demand and monopolies

The $ price is ZERO for the actual consumer. Vaccines in the US and Canada are free for any citizen.

In Canada they negotiate drug prices and actually put a cap on new drug prices:

"the cost of the new drug may be no higher than the cost of existing drugs used to treat the same disease... once a maximum drug price for a new patented medication has been set, price increases are limited by changes in the general Consumer Price Index, so they can't rise faster than overall inflation."

Our government doesn't shop around. Why would they? They haven't bothered to balance the budget in 35 years...

Face it, weed is bad for you. It makes you forget things and...

What was I just talking about?

Anyway, obviously if there is a national glut of weed and prices are dropping than there is more supply than demand. Too many suppliers competing is pushing the price down. Eventually profits will be so low that the less efficient suppliers will do something else for a living and the more efficient ones will start making an average profit margin again.

By average profit margin I mean approximately what other business make with comparable time and resource inputs. When any particular industry is making unusually high profits it attracts other competitors into the business and that drives down profit margins to an average level. I found this out personally in the 90s when a business partner and myself made a ton of money over about a 2.5 year period brokering telecommunications services. I thought it would never end. Then a shitload of competition started doing the same thing and they passed us by and left us in their dust like a fucking freight train.
