I don’t know why, but I LIKE grumpy old men.

Bernie is your basic 1960′s radical. The kind everyone used to tell “You have to work WITHIN the system.” Well, he did.

I don’t always agree with him on points of policy, but I feel a great deal of kinship with his overall outlook and point of view.

The hippies were right, you know.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Bernie. He’s been saying the same message for decades, and the country is finally catching up to him. But the older he gets the more grouchy and crotchety he seems to get. Grumpy old man lol.

He seems to have all the boxes checked to be a presidential contender. And I love that gruffy voice that gives him such an honest blue collar feel. But he never pulled the trigger on running. What’s in his closet? A past drug addiction? Some mental or health issue? A menage a trois with Madonna and Sean Penn?

As for Kamela, I thought she did a very good job in her debate vs Pence. She mopped the floor with him on the Climate Change question. Kamela’s problem is her lack of a strong following. The only people who get fired up about her are the MAGA republicans who hate her guts. She has a limited base and I doubt she could win the nomination. That could change of course if something unfortunate happened to Joe and she found herself in the oval office before the primaries. But barring that I think she has a slightly better chance of following Biden than Dan Quayle had following GHWB. What kind of trouble do you expect from her when she doesn’t get the nomination? I expect her to fall in line and back the nominee.

Bernie and Liz are old news. Both are great in the Senate but will never be in the White House. You think Biden is too old (I agree) but Bernie is actually older.

And I like Gavin myself, especially since he’ll send the GOP into shivering fits.

But there is the problem of Kamela. No doubt she is expecting to move up to the nomination in case Biden decides not to run, or is incapacitated by illness or scandal. I, and many other Democrats, are not convinced Ms Harris can handle the Presidency. If she insists on running for the office, it could split the Democratic Party in two.

You’re right, Biden has done a terrific job so far, far beyond my expectations, but he’s just too old. Still, let’s hope he is fit and ready to run again in ’24. I would prefer either Bernie Sanders or Liz Warren, but I’m afraid Kamela Harris will not be denied her chance at the White House. She will cause trouble if she’s not nominated.

And whatever happened to Sherrod Brown (D-OH)? I’ve always seen him as qualified, charismatic and articulate, but he seems to have no interest in leaving the Senate. Does he have some deep, dark secret in his past?
