The world is a complicated place February 8, 2023 10:20 am ER

Things aren’t as simple as they look…or as easy as we’d like.

Can you imagine if that missile had failed, for whatever reason, and had fallen down to earth? The aircraft was at the extreme limit of its ceiling, neither it nor the weapon were designed to engage targets in the stratosphere. Even if no one was hurt, or property damaged, how would we look to the world? A few hundred 20mm cannon shells raining on somebody’s farm or in a Wal-Mart parking lot would really be an embarrassment to the nation as well. And of course, the GOP would be blaming it all on Biden.

I figured this out without any particular expertise in the science of air combat, why couldn’t the Republican Party?
Biden certainly didn’t know at first, but he was smart enough to follow the advice of his generals. Can you imagine if Trump had been in charge during this affair? That balloon would be somewhere over Africa by now.

Oh, and BTW, did you see how Joe ambushed the entire GOP into promising, very publicly, they would not go after Medicare and Social Security? He may be an old fart, but he still knows how to maneuver in Congress.
