National Geographic had the chart for the Moon's far side available at the time. I hung it on the bedroom wall.

The Korolev crater is impressive, located on the Lunar far side at 4.19°S 157.41°W, and has a diameter of 423.41 kilometers. At the time, I wrote a small piece about using this monster to frame a radio telescope in the Arisibo style, using the body of the Moon to block Earth interference. It would still have to be dampened to record solar activity during the New Moon periods. I mentioned this future telescope at the beginning of my "MARC: The Martian Armed Resistance Corps."

I heard it as a young man. It was devastating.

That idea that you'd missed the boat, didn't 'hear the starting gun', that you'd spend the rest of your life in a cul-de-sac, trying to claw your way out; it can be horrible to find yourself in that condition, whether caused by your own bad luck, or stuck in hopeless circumstances.

It must be familiar to underclass, unemployed youth in a caste-ridden society, like Britain. Maybe that's why the blues caught on in the UK, why they resonated with it. The music of the American Negro, adopted by the British proletariat. Can you dig it?

"Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death." Wow.

About 30 years ago I remember thinking Pink Floyd would be to future generations what Mozart and Beethoven are to us today. I think I was about 14 when I first heard Time. I had headphones on and was stoned on some columbian, and of course I jump out of my skin when the clocks went off lol.

I need to listen to this a couple hundred more times.

If I assume I've, on average, listened to this album once a month since then, then several hundred.

And it still sounds as fresh and innovative as the day we first listened to it.

I don't recall the first time I heard it, but do remember distinctly the thought that flashed through my mind when I did.

A thousand years from now, this is the kind of music starship crews will listen to when they're off watch.
