That’s how I remember R. Heinlein saying it in “Time Enough for Love” and he was probably about my age, perhaps younger. I’d have to check.

I’m a bight younger than you but I know the feeling. If an asteroid crashed into the earth I think I’d just laugh.

But there are still things I’d like to see, laughs I’d like to have, people I want to see smiling. There’s wine to drink, full moons, and how I love to watch the sunrise. Never gets old. Don’t even mind the wrinkles marching around my eyes, or those of my beloved.

Yeah, I bought the ticket, might as well sit through the credits.

There’s a certain freedom born of this perspective.
