Riders in the storm April 19, 2023 6:10 am ER

The recent flooding here in South Florida temporarily disrupted fuel deliveries to gas stations all over SE Florida. But now that the waters have receded and the fuel trucks are moving again, panic buying by consumers has caused a major gas shortage. Gasoline retailers all over Dade and Broward counties are shut down, and those few still open are plagued with long lines and frantic customers. People who still have plenty of gas in their tanks are afraid they’ll run out, and even though the deliveries are going full blast, suppliers cannot keep up with demand. Meanwhile,
fist fights and shootings have started to break out at the few filling stations still doing business.

I usually fill up when my gauge reads a half tank, so this shortage has not affected me; one of my cars has a full tank, the other still has over half a tank. Besides, we don’t need to get to work or to school like most folks do. We don’t go anywhere except to medical appointments. But the panic only seems to be getting worse. The major distributors are fully stocked and they are delivering as fast as they can, but they still say the shortage will probably last at least until next week.

The country is going crazy. Can you feel it? Have you been following the Great Bud Light Conspiracy? Apparently, Anheuser-Busch has been using a trans influencer as a spokesperson for their product, and the Right has decided its all a CIA campaign to turn America woke. Supposedly, the new CEO at Busch once worked at the CIA, so the QAnon people have decided Bud Light is part of a Deep State plot to pollute our precious bodily fluids.

This is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends…
