It's only 'private' if no one hacks your account. In 2018, 120 million accounts were compromised but I didn't find any reports after that. Doesn't mean it doesn't still happen. If you "delete" a conversation, supposedly it's removed from the sever on your end, but still resides on the recipient's side.
