Cat in a tuxedo for president September 16, 2023 12:46 pm ER

It’s MAGA’s party now. Republicans fused politics and religion into one singular ideology -aka Christian Nationalism. They have successfully combined two forms of social control into one – creating loyal disciples. Anytime you have a scenario where “god is on our side”, with nationalism added, you are dealing with people who cannot be reasoned with, and their twisted and seditious logic is that they must do whatever is necessary to save the Country from itself. It’s a separate political movement in and of itself. It’s Neo-Fascism. Demographic are changing, and different types of faces that they used to not see – are faces they see all the time now. Their leaders speak to their prejudices and exploit social issues as a bait and switch to deflect from the core policies that are not popular nationally. Although the electoral college is all that matters, Republicans have only won the popular vote one time in the last eight Presidential election. [Emphasis my own] To put that in perspective, going back from 1968 to 1988, Republicans only lost the popular vote one time – Carter in 1976. It’s clear now that Republicans are not popular nationally, and their positions archaic. It doesn’t matter what Trump does. It boils down to the ends justify the means no matter what.

He’s right. If we wind up with a Christian Nationalist regime in this country, it will not be because too many Americans voted MAGA, it will be because too many Americans will have failed to vote at all. And we will get exactly the government we deserve.
