Boehner had never seen anyone who was so focused only on tearing things down and never building anything. Jordan has voted for every shutdown, every debt ceiling default. He views Democrats not as opponents who disagree, but as evil spawn. He was deeply involved in Trump’s attempts to overturn the election and stay in power. He has led the charge for impeaching Joe Biden for High Crimes unknown. Making him Speaker would be sheer madness and a prescription for permanent chaos in the government.

And have you noticed how many people like this come from a background of “working with youth”?

Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez (R-Fla.), who voted for McCarthy over Jordan, told reporters that he thought McCarthy needed to “get another shot” at the speakership. He also blamed Jordan’s hardball methods for costing him votes. “His tactics certainly didn’t work on me,” Gimenez said. “Actually, I became more cemented in my position. … He should have probably left me to my own devices to get there. Now by being threatened, by being pushed — I’m Hispanic. I’m a Cuban. You just don’t do that to us.”

Jordan’s smear tactics backfired bigtime and his Speakership bid is practically dead.
