Nate Silver Gives Trump a 66% chance of winning in November. June 27, 2024 5:38 am ER

https://currently.att.yahoo.com/att/cm/polling-guru-nate-silver-gives-205042435.html

If Trump wins AGAIN due to an electoral college technicality it suggests that venerable old constitutional institution is definitely in need of some reform–not that that’s likely to happen anytime soon.

George W Bush won his second election with a popular majority, which was to be expected, the US had been attacked on 9/11 and Americans do not like to switch horses in mid stream during wartime. But other than that election, the Republican Presidential candidates have not been able to win a popular majority of American voters for over thirty years.

Its probably a moot point anyway. If Trump wins in 2024, the GOP will control reapportionment, local election commissions, the state houses and the courts, as well as the press. I expect no Democrat will ever be elected to the US Presidency again.
