Biden probably bought himself some time here. Only one really bad screw up, calling Trump his VP, but I agree with ER that Biden was low energy most of the way.

What’s going to matter in the next week or so is polls, and of course that Biden doesn’t have any major meltdowns anywhere. Actually, Joe will be doing a high wire act until November, with his every word being analysed.

I'm afraid you're right.

Its not that he doesn't make sense, or that he doesn't know what he's talking about. The problem is he cannot communicate. A politician and a leader must be able to express himself clearly and succinctly. Its the reason the Greeks and Romans taught it. It was one of the seven Liberal Arts. Rhetoric isn't just an abstract skill, for poets and actors. It is the way an idea is transmitted, and it is how an attitude and a spirit and a will is expressed. Even someone who disagrees with a message must be able to believe the speaker believes it, and believes he can make it happen. Reagan had it. Clinton had it. Churchill and Hitler had it, and even Trump has it.

Biden no longer has it. Even if you believe everything he says, he can't convince you he does.
