Granted, Vance was an officer in the Marines but he saw no combat that I know of. Not that that is a criticism, you do what you're ordered to do in the military. But I'm sure if no one with any service experience were nominated on the Democratic side, the snarks would be immediate, fast, furious and nasty. Another plus is Kelly is a firearms owner and enthusiast, but his wife is a victim of right wing gun violence and he can speak with great authority on that issue. I have a feeling Trump is going to brag about his experience at the hands of a "Liberal assassin", but Kelly's presence will help silence him decisively on that. The other candidates for the VP post seem worthy choices, but Kamala would be crazy not to pick Kelly. And as far as I know, Sen Kelly has never suffered from bone spurs.
