Having someone who is a moderate for VP is what the ticket needs. It reaches out to middle America. The fact that far left progressives oppose him might be exactly why Kamala should pick him. That and of course the fact that Pennsylvannia is the key to the election, and Shapiro has 65% approval there in a state that is 50-50 purple. I didn't think it was possible for him to win in the general. Even after the Sarah Palin VP pick I still thought McCain was too big a heavyweight with too impressive a personal history, and Obama would scare too many white voters. And to this day I doubt Obama would have won that first election had there not been deep stock market crash a couple months before the election that the public blamed on the GOP. In 2024 Trump is the analog to the stock market crash in 2008. This man is a fucking nightmare and I have to believe the 82 million Americans who voted to kick him out in 2020 will be back to do it again. And that was BEFORE Jan 6. Also consider that Kamala is much more experienced now than Obama was in 2008. Of course she could still lose, but she has been pretty damn impressive so far. She needs to attack attack attack non stop right up until election day.
