Is writing an addiction? November 18, 2024 11:05 am RobVG

I never wrote much until I joined the HabitableZone. So many members were such good writers, like Fox, Mary Anne and Tech1. Even Tom was good at stringing sentences together. I often found myself cringing when they pointed out my spelling and grammar errors but I learned quickly thanks to them.
Now I can’t stop writing. It’s usually an attempt at humor or sharing my way at looking at the world. I spend much of the day writing in my head.
I’ve read Hemingway’s advice on writing and he said not to do this, but I can’t stop. He also agonized over every sentence and paragraph, and I find myself doing this too.
Writing can be either an addiction or an affliction, but it’s one I can live with.
