Yesterday was the 332nd day of the year 2025 November 30, 2025 1:41 pm ER

There is less sea ice in the Arctic today than on any day 332 since 1979
except 2016.

11/28/25 9.403 x 10^6 km^2 2nd lowest
11/27/24 9.859 x 10^6 km^2 3rd lowest

11/27/16 9.332 x 10^6 km^2 Lowest

11/27/92 12.253 x 10^6 km^2 Highest
11/28/82 12.202 x 10^6 km^2 2nd highest

The gap between highest and lowest is much more dramatic in summer. Its close to 50%.
Numbers alone don’t really tell the story, you really need to see it displayed on a graph.
