Roast pork, ham, provolone or swiss cheese (pastrami optional) with pickle, mayo AND mustard on toasted French baguette.
This is Tampa style where the sandwich was invented, a century ago.. In Miami they like to flatten it in a hot press, but that is barbaric, as is serving it with lettuce and tomato (if you want a salad, order one on the side).
If you have it for breakfast, wash it down with a cafe con leche. For lunch, have a nice cold cerveza. For dinner, treat yourself to a Cuba Libre.
It is the perfect food.
