Either the stupidity and backlash to the cruelty of this administration causes it to self destruct and takes down the GOP with it, or this is the fascism we will live with and it will get far worse.... Not sure what I can do outside of violence, which will only give the fascists justification to do far worse. I hope to leave the country, but for family reasons this is a bad time to do so. As for the climate, I was arguing that with that piece of shit TB back in the late 90's on here (or its predecessor) - now we know we will see entire regions of people die in heat waves in the coming decades... the immigration "flood" which has empowered fascists everywhere that we see now is just a trickle compared to the tsunami that is coming... so fascism is baked in at this point- I saw it coming when the Bush V Gore decision was made- that was the turning point - I just assumed I would be dead long before it came to fruition- Bush v Gore was pretty much the last time we might have staved off what is to come. Children born today will see the deaths of 100's of millions- if not billions- due to climate disaster- assuming they are not among the dead. Wealth inequality will only accelerate with the power brought by AI... right up until the point it kills us all. No happy news here, just bleak facts that require genuine miracles to avoid... At this point, this is what bigoted moron voters have condemned us to – around the world, but especially in the USA.
