Knowing that Rove and Perry will be involved, one can make some good guesses.
First, the Birthers will be active again. Obama will be “proven” to be a Kenyan several times. This will appeal to some of the people. A former employee of a Hawaiian vital statistics bureau will swear to have seen the forgeries put into place.
Second, Obama will be “proven” to be a Muslim. That’s another tactic on the order of “Swift Boats”. People will be found who have traveled to Mecca with him, who have seen the Koran on his desk in the Oval Office.
Romney will claim to have no idea as to who would be saying such things, having no control over people outside his campaign.
The banks who have been bailed out will give millions and millions to Romney, in the hopes of setting up another economic failure and bailout. There seems to be no more efficient way to pump money into the accounts of the super-wealthy.
Obama will be hammered over the debt, which resonates well with the middle-class conservatives. They believe it is a genuine issue in spite of history.
“Reagan,” Vice President Dick Cheney famously declared in 2002, “proved deficits don’t matter.” Unless, that is, a Democrat is in the White House. After all, while Ronald Reagan tripled the national debt andGeorge W. Bush doubled it again , each Republican was rewarded with a second term in office. But as the Gallup polling data show, concern over the federal deficit hasn’t been this high since Democratic budget balancer Bill Clinton was in office. All of which suggest the Republicans’ born-again disdain for deficits ranks among the greatest – and most successful – political double-standards in recent memory.”
