As are many, many people, I’m on a Democratic Party email list. I am constantly receiving emails from a variety of Democrats, most of the party hacks but often Barack or Michele. This morning, though, was over the top.
The sender was “Bill Clinton”. Bad enough, I’m not inclined to look forward to his posts, not in the least.
The subject line was “Good Morning”. The body was an invitation to dinner, IF I donated and then won a drawing.
In spite of the long list of really foxy folks who have had Bill Clinton wish them “good morning”, I don’t want to be in that group. Having Bill Clinton wish me “Good Morning” is nothing I was raised to accept, nothing I have any interest in, and frankly I’m surprised he would do that. To follow that up with an invitation to dinner is to add insult to injury.
I wish Bill would keep his greetings and emails to himself. And Obama should realize that Bill Clinton’s endorsement is a bit like Bernie Madoff’s. They are both well-known, extremely knowledgeable, accomplished in their respective fields, but maybe a bit tarnished, not that appealing to more normal people.
Come to think of it, I don’t want Bernie wishing me “good morning”, either.

I doubt the email came from Clinton's office if you have to win a drawing to be included.

It's the thought that counts. :-)
